Do you have questions? We'll answer them.

How long does an expert opinion take?

Our high-quality linguistic analyses are designed to deliver the best possible results and are therefore generally very labor-intensive and time-consuming. In urgent situations, such as imminent serious crimes or emergencies where a rapid outcome is crucial, a "lightning analysis" with findings (without a full report) is possible within eight hours. A thorough, computer-assisted analysis, conducted by our team, requires at least 24 hours; even then, you will receive a report with a concise explanation.

Material testing – free of charge: a few days

Computer-aided expert report – depending on the amount of material: approx. 4 to 12 weeks

Are your expert opinions admissible in court?

In recent years, there have been numerous legally binding judgments in which our linguistic analysis was the sole piece of evidence presented in court. This includes judgments from labor courts, local courts, regional courts, and higher regional courts. A statement regarding probability is a standard part of every expert opinion.

Our expert opinions are, of course, recognized as evidence throughout the German-speaking world, including at regional and higher regional courts. Importantly, our linguistic reports can also serve as the sole burden of proof in such cases, even if other evidence is entirely lacking.

How much does an expert opinion cost?

The cost depends on your objectives, the type of expert report required (results report, expert opinion, comprehensive report), and ultimately on the time we spend. Our hourly rate starts at €180 (net).

Our phased plans, tailored to your objectives, ensure good cost control. This means that, in principle, our services can be provided for any budget, subject to agreement.

Expert opinions in other languages

Generally, yes. The corresponding computer programs can also be used for the common Western languages of communication (English, French, Spanish and Italian).

Furthermore, in addition to our linguistically competent team, native speakers are always included in the evaluation for important projects.

Do you also do handwriting analysis?

No, but we would be happy to recommend an expert.

Do you need originals?

Original texts are only required for comparative handwriting analysis or for evidentiary documents that require trace analysis. However, for our linguistic analysis, excellent photocopies are desirable, ideally of scannable quality.

In addition to the evidence of the crime, we need – if already available – as many recent, authentic comparison texts from suspected persons as possible, which belong to at least a similar text type to the texts of the crime

What is the difference between a private expert and an expert appointed by the court?

If you have a competent expert at hand and have commissioned them privately to prepare an expert opinion (for a party), you have already "disqualified" them for subsequent levels and instances, meaning they are no longer eligible to serve as a court-appointed expert or even as a senior expert. An expert appointed by the court always carries more weight in securing evidence.
